Details: The 1948 Tucker sedan was an advanced automobile conceived by Preston Tucker and briefly produced in Chicago in 1948. Only 51 examples were made before the company folded on March 3, 1949. Studebaker was first with an all-new post-war model. But Tucker took a different tack, designing a safety car with innovative features and modern styling. His specifications called for a rear engine like Porsche, disc brakes, fuel injection and a padded dashboard. The final car was only 60 inches (1524 mm) tall, but was very roomy inside. It featured a directional third headlight, dubbed the “Cyclops Eye,” for use in turns. It lit up whenever the car was steered by more than 10 degrees. The body design came from Alex Tremulis and was called the most aerodynamic in the world. Although it still sported pre-war type fenders, it was startlingly modern. Mathematically-computed drag coefficient was only 0.27, though this was ’rounded up’ publicly to 0.30. Today, the ’48 Sedan has fame far greater than would be expected from its modest production run. Of the 51 cars built (50 production and 1 prototype), 47 still exist, the majority in excellent condition. This particular example is professionally and correctly restored to show specifications. The top speed of 115 mph was unbelievable for a car of such size and stature. Only five were built. This car is one of three that survived. Previously part of the Harrah’s Auto Collection from the early 1960s until 1987. It was restored by the world famous Harrah’s facility. Full Harrah’s restoration records. Details: One of the most spectacular Ghia designs was the DeSoto Adventurer II, a derivative of the Savonuzzi Supersonic Series, somewhat reworked by Virgil Exner. Extremely long for a two-seater, its form is at once elegant and refined yet boldly spectacular. An innovative feature that seems never to have been replicated was the sliding-into-the-trunk backlight, opening up the roof behind the seats, giving a draft-free open area and many of the advantages of a convertible with none of the inconveniences. A close look at the DeSoto will show just how fastidious and perfection-minded Ghia designers, managers and workmen were. Voted as one of the top 10 concept cars every built. Less than 15,000 original miles. First owner King of Morocco, King Mohammed V. **TITLE IN TRANSIT**

Summary:
Details: An outstanding example of one of the original COPO ZL1 aluminum block 427 Camaros, this particular car is #9 of the total production run of 69 cars produced. This car is very well documented from its original delivery to Fred Gibb Chevrolet of LaHarpe, Illinois, the dealer that spearheaded the original concept of an all-aluminum motor ZL1 Camaro.Included with this car is an amazing collection of historical documentation including the Dealers Shippers copy of the original window sticker, the customer copy of the original bill of sale, a copy of the Chevrolet MSO and much more. Having been through a very expensive, cost-no-object restoration, this particular ZL1 Camaro is “one of the finest in existence”, exactly as it states in the accompanying Cuneen report by Ed Cuneen of COPO Connection. Only the highest quality components were used in this restoration with a strong emphasis on New Old Stock pieces instead of more readily available reproduction items. A GM factory assembled body shell was used to correct the extensive body modifications performed during this cars long term drag race history. Look beyond the show-quality paint, beautifully-fitted body and flawless-trim to see one of the most top notch Camaro restorations in the world. The workmanship employed to complete this car is the best you will find and the direction to recapture assembly line correct details is evident throughout the entire car, in particular with engine compartment and chassis assemblies. The Cuneen Report that is included with this car features extensive photography and a certification of numbered and coded components. While this car has been driven only a few miles since completion, it has been mechanically sorted and performs flawlessly with no issues needing attention. Offered here today by collector George Lyons of Erie, Pennsylvania, this 1969 ZL1 Camaro is stunning, highly documented, correctly restored example from this historic run of just 69 cars.

The “Intimidator” serial number 3 of the 5 which were produced and the only car of the series to carry the “Intimidator” name is equipped with the actual engine block and other engine components that powered Earnhardt and the No. 3 GM Goodwrench Service Plus Chevrolet Monte Carlo at several NASCAR tracks. The inspiration for RCR Series 3 Camaro came from the famous No. 3 GM Goodwrench Chevrolet race cars. Most significantly, the RCR Series 3 Camaro includes two engines, one of which is a Chevrolet SB2 block race engine built and tuned at RCR engine shop especially for this project. The other engine is an all-aluminum 427cid small block Chevy. RCR opted for Dynacorn’s beautiful body shells, licensed by GM. Beyond the body shell is an array of ZFX aircraft composite/carbon fiber body panels, including a special one-piece hood, other extreme pieces include special rocker panels, a front fascia with an integral spoiler, shaved drip rails and door locks, a rear rolled pan, custom bumpers and a NASCAR Car of Tomorrow (COT) rear wing. Add to this f1ush mounted glass in back, a matching windshield with a custom logo and black Planet Color paint accented with red outlines around silver panels laid down by TPI. Other features include, Chassis Works G-Machine bolt-in frame clip with sub-frame connectors that tie to the mini-tubbed rear frame rails. This greatly improves rigidity to the unibody structure, allowing the triangulated 4-link, Hypercoil springs and Bilstein shocks to maintain the Chassis Works FAB 9 Direct Fit 9″ axle with Eaton Detroit’s Truetrac 3.55:1 gearing. Rear wheels are huge 18×12″ HRE competition wheels and BFGoodrich g-Force T/A’s, up front 18×10″ rims. As for braking, Baer’s Track System with PBR 2-piston calipers and 13×1.1″ rotors. This hand-formed, all-steel bodied masterpiece was fabricated by Marcel Delay and Sons is a Chip Foose designed body, designed during his tenure at the Hotrods by Boyd shop. This is a stunning example of the best talents available and is a breathtaking car. This is one of three all-steel 1932 roadster bodies that were hand-fabricated by Marcel’s Custom Metal. Features a custom grille, handmade firewall with a welded-in custom metal dash and one-piece windshield. The fenders and running boards are mounted into the side of the frame rails to allow the car to sit much lower. Much of the craftsmanship was completed with the body in place to allow the suspension to tuck up into the chassis rails. All the stainless brake and fuel lines are run within the frame rails. The rear end is based upon a Corvette independent suspension center section. The factory crossmember was removed and it has custom fabricated mounts. Features include custom control arms and hub carriers by Boyd Coddington, as well as custom fabricated brake brackets and rotors. All suspension is fully plated and polished. The wheels are Boyd Coddington spindle-mount wheels, with no lug nuts and hidden fasteners. The power plant is a 454cid fully polished aluminum ZL1 block, number 12 of a limited run of 211, bored .030 to 460cid from GM Performance Parts. Polished aluminum heads topped with custom billet valve covers. Handmade intake, incorporating a custom fuel injection system and a billet MSD ignition. Cooling features include a custom made 5-row radiator with internal overflow tube, polished billet aluminum water pump and a block-driven stainless fan. The transmission is based upon a Turbo-Hydro transmission, sporting a B&M 2,500 stall speed converter with chrome-plated Lokar shifter. Transmission is fully polished with a handmade finless fluid pan. The dash includes a custom insert and handmade steering wheel atop a painted Ididit steering column. The gauges incorporated into the dash are custom one-offs. The interior was handmade by Paul Atkins and is comprised of Austrian cream aircraft leather, accompanied by Mercedes tan-hued wool carpet. Chosen to reflect its Hot Rod heritage, the piece is finished in custom mixed DuPont Brazilian Rage Red paint. The AMBR trophy replica accompanies the car, as well as several copies of the magazine it was featured in. Judging book is also included. The trophy and judging book have been signed by Chip Foose, Bobby Alloway and George Lange.

Details: This Shelby GT500 Durability Car is a rare piece of muscle car history, and is the car that the SVT team and Carroll Shelby signed off at the racetrack. It is the genesis and inspiration for today’s Shelby GT500 production Mustangs that are available at Ford dealerships nationwide. “I’m really proud to have my name on this car that you guys [Ford SVT Team] have put together working with my dreams of what I think a car should be. And you made it that and more,” said Carroll Shelby. This Shelby GT500 Durability Car was designed and engineered by the Ford SVT team working together with Carroll Shelby. Ford SVT assembled much of this GT500 Durability by hand and then tested it on Sebring International Raceway, the High-speed Oval track at the Arizona Proving Ground, as well as the Route 66 road course, among others. It was personally piloted by Carroll Shelby during many hours of its testing. As a result of its testing, this Durability Car allowed the production GT500 to feature a 5.8L supercharged aluminum-block V8 engine cranks out 650hp and 600 lb/ft of torque, making it one of the most powerful cars ever built. Handling is world-class with a TORSEN limited-slip differential, carbon fiber one-piece drive shaft, front and rear Bilstein adjustable dampers, performance-tuned front and rear springs and front and rear stabilizer bars. The car stops on a dime with 6-piston Brembo front brake calipers, ABS Ventilated 4-wheel disc brakes and Electronic brake distribution. Details: Another truly impressive Resto-Mod from the Jimmy Richardson Collection and Big Pop’s Garage. Impressed with the styling of the Eleanor Mustang Jimmy wanted something different an over-the-top. His thought, what if all of the body modifications were steel and made to be an integral part of the body. Working with two shops Jimmy was able to turn this thought into reality. Hence the BAD ASS Mustang was born. This car is truly spectacular. It is unique in its construction and styling and is a one-of-a-kind Mustang. Not only different by the drivetrain but also dimensionally and geometrically different. The front fenders and hood have been extended. The workmanship leaves nothing to be desired and is truly first class. With over 3,000 man hours spent during the build process, the investment of time shows and shows well. The engine is a Shelby aluminum block displacing 428cid with Edelbrock aluminum Stage 3 heads and topped off with a Vortech supercharger built by Keith Craft. The engine peaks at 763hp and 747lb/ft of torque. Other top name products include Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes, Schott custom aluminum 3-piece wheels and every emblem is custom made. Finished in 2008 Shelby Super Snake Red with simulated bare metal stripes, this car truly stands out. Only 95 miles on the build. From the Jimmy Richardson Collection.
